Even though I try to use a daily shower spray, I still notice every few years my bathroom caulk begins to thin up and collect mold and mildew.

The use of caulk is important to keep moisture from getting behind the tub and causing more serious and long-lasting mold or mildew damage. To prevent this, remove caulking about every 18-24 months and replace with new.
