How To Make Honey Whiskey or Honeyshine
Well, guess what the hubby and I have just bought… A distiller, we didn’t spend any of our actual money, we had a gift card for our anniversary and decided to go ahead and treat ourselves to one as we really want to make our own whiskey. We love whiskey.
I found an awesome recipe on the website I bought the distiller and this is our first attempt at distilling or “shining” as people from the south like to say.
It’s basically a no frills distilled mead, but it packs a powerful punch and tastes great. We’ve grown accustomed to using wildflower honey because it has more complexity than clover honey. However, clover honey will lend its own unique taste to the final product and may taste even better than wildflower. Giver er a try and tell us what you think.
